Project Description & Objectives

Feasibility and acceptance of wearable devices in patients with metastatic cancer undergoing their first 6 months of systemic therapy (chemo and/or immunotherapy) in an outpatient setting; secondary goal: assessing overall survival and unplanned events in association with physical performance according to 3 different sources: data from Fitrockr, clinical measurements (handgrip strength, timed up and go..), and ECOG performance scale.

Data Collection Process

All patients included in the Biobanking Programme of the Doppler Laboratory for personalized immunotherapy were also asked to participate in the wearable study. Those who agreed were asked to wear their Vivosmart 4 during the day and charge it over night for 6 months. Depending on therapy type, bi-weekly or 3-weekly checkups with Fitrockr data sync via a central tablet were conducted.

Fitrockr Utilization

Fitrockr multi-sync feature via a central tablet was used to a) set up the wearable according to our needs and b) extract the raw data from the wearables and manage it in the cloud.
