How to use a heart rate monitor strap
- A heart rate monitor strap (e.g. Garmin HRM-Pro, Polar H10 Strap, Suunto Smart Strap, Wahoo Tickr Strap) needs to be connected as an accessory to a compatible Garmin watch. A strap cannot record data as a stand-alone device!
- The strap will provide heart rate data during a recorded activity and send it to the connected Garmin watch.
- The Garmin watch will send the data to Fitrockr. The strap does not communicate with Fitrockr directly!
Fitrockr live streaming is also supported. The Garmin device will live stream the heart rate of the strap instead of the device heart rate sensor during an activity.
Important Information and Restrictions
A HR strap will only record data if:
– the associated Garmin watch is in Bluetooth range. The Garmin watch does not need to be worn but it needs to be in permanent Bluetooth range.
– Garmin watch is recording an activity. This means that the strap will start recording data as soon as an activity is started on the Garmin watch. As soon as the activity is stopped, strap will transfer the data to the Garmin watch.
If Garmin watch is worn together with a HR strap during an activity, heart rate data from the strap will overwrite the heart rate data recorded by the Garmin watch.
